Pro to a con

The house that we’re staying in for this bachelorette party is massive. Sarah, Kate, Amanda and I essentially have a separate wing, which has been very fun for us all getting ready. Amanda and Kate are in one room down the hall, Sarah and I in the other. The first night, we fell asleep listening to just tidbits of each other’s conversations and giggles.

Now, we’re all getting ready for a late dinner and then hitting the town. Kate’s playing some music. Sarah is experiencing the magic that is my Shark hair dryer for the first time. The direct quote when she finally figured out the curling want option was “what in the crisp heck is this sorcery”.

Moral is… high-ish… but we’re definitely no longer 21. Not that 28 and 29 is ‘old’. We just are feeling yesterday’s shenanigans in a way we once wouldn’t. My hands are a little shaky. Amanda is a little nauseous. We’ve just discovered that the club that we might go to if everyone’s up for it does not open until 2am. IT DOES NOT OPEN UNTIL 2AM. Miami is a different planet.

“Oh my god. You guys.” Kate calls out from their room.

“What?!” I respond over the sound of the Shark. Sarah pauses it.

“Is it tonight or tomorrow that we have daylight savings.”

I gasp. Sarah gasps. It’s not the good daylight savings.

“I think it’s tomorrow.” Amanda calls.

“It’s definitely not tomorrow.” Sarah says quietly to me.

“Nevermind, it is not tomorrow.” Amanda calls.

“Yep.” Sarah nods her head. “Definitely not tomorrow.”

“Wait a second…” I say, brain processing what this means. Sarah picks up on what I’m thinking at the exact same time.

“The bar opens at 1am!!!! Not 2!!!!” She grabs my arm.

“I guess there’s always a silver lining.”
