March 22 - Clean!

I don’t even know what to write about today because not one but TWO exciting things happened. On a Wednesday!!! Crazy. Ok, fine, I’ll touch on both.

This morning I was sitting in my apartment, slowly chugging through my work day, when there was a knock on my door. No way. Could it be… ? I hustled to get it and there was my maintenance guy holding a very beautiful very shiny key.

Are you the one that needed a laundry key?

I honestly could have hugged him. Yes!!!!!! As soon as the door had shut, I started putting together all of the things that I’ve so desperately wanted to wash for the last TWO WEEKS. Sheets. Bath towels. Hand towels. Dish towels. Workout towel. Bath mat. Dish drying mat. Tablecloth. And, of course, solidly 2 loads of clothes.

Work has been really insane lately, but I couldn’t help it. As soon as my first two loads were going, I decided to deep clean my entire kitchen. There’s just something about a cleanliness snowball effect. The promise of clean towels and clothes had really lit a fire under my butt. I scrubbed my stove, reorganized all the cabinets, cleared my counter space, and hung up two shelves that I had been debating (for months) where to put. Then I swept and mopped and made an enormous salad for lunch.

I know what you’re thinking. How can the second exciting thing possibly be any more exciting than me doing my laundry? And honestly I agree. But today, finally, after about a week of planning, my mom and I did our joint 1000 Peloton ride. I was at 299 and she was at 699… together, 1000. We set up a Zoom meeting and huffed and puffed together our entire way through Alex Toussaint’s Ride to Greatness 30 minutes.

Here’s a live shot of her whooping me:

Goooood day. Tiring, but very good.
